This Cookie Policy explains how UK Property Portal uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in our members area at app.theukpropertyportal.co.uk. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to improve performance, and to provide information to site owners. Browsers can also store information in "local storage", which stays until it is cleared, and "session storage", which is cleared when the tab is closed. The same rules apply to all of them, and this page covers all of them.
We keep our use of cookies and storage to a minimum. As currently built, neither the website nor the members area sets marketing or advertising cookies, so we do not ask you to accept cookies when you arrive:

Our fonts are served from this website itself, so viewing a page makes no request to a third-party font service. Following a link to any social platform will be subject to that provider's own cookie policy.
Members area. When you are signed in, we record which sections you open and for how long, and which tools you run. These events are tied to your account and grouped by visit using ua_sid. They never include what you type.
Calculators. Our landlord calculators set no cookies and store nothing on your device. The figures you type stay in your browser and are never sent to us. To see which calculators are used, each page sends one anonymous count when it is opened and one when a calculation is run, naming only the calculator — never your figures, the result, or anything that identifies you or your device. See the Privacy Policy for the detail.
You can object to analytics on this website at any time. The button below stops this browser sending the calculator counts. It saves your choice in this browser as ukpp_analytics_optout, so it applies to this browser on this device only; if you use another browser or device, turn it off there too. Clearing your browser's storage for this site also clears the choice.
To turn analytics off, JavaScript needs to be switched on in your browser.
The members area keeps its own setting: to switch off usage analytics there, use the switch on your Account page. It applies to the browser you set it in.
You can control and delete cookies and stored data through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site function: without the sign-in cookie you cannot stay signed in to the members area, and clearing this site's storage deletes any draft you have not saved to an account. We may update this Cookie Policy as the site evolves. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
